This year has been an exciting one for the international property market. We’ve seen astronomical growth in London house prices, a continuing solid recovery in the American market and an average price increase of more than 20% in Hong Kong, Iceland and Qatar.
Predictions are being made for where the market is going to go in 2016 and developers, agents and investors are already hard at work. If you’ve been grafting tirelessly to play your part in the international property market, you may be on the lookout for the recognition you deserve.
There are hundreds of property awards up for grabs in the UK, Europe and further afield. Winning one can be a big boost for property professionals. Not only will you enjoy the personal pride and glory of being recognised, awards can also offer excellent publicity and networking opportunities.
Which awards should you be keeping your eyes on for 2016?
1. The International Property Awards
The International Property Awards are open to property professionals from right across the globe. Award categories are split into nine regional awards, covering Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, the UK and the USA. The highest scoring winners from each regional category are put forward to an overall international category.
When is it?
2016’s events are still TBC, but most regional award ceremonies are expected to take place between September and November.

2. YN Property Awards
In February the YN Property Awards will be celebrating their 10th anniversary. Each year the event recognises talented young professionals across the British property industry including agents, developers and lawyers. This year is expected to be their biggest event so far.
When is it?
The YN Property Awards 2016 will take place in London on 25th February 2016.
When is the nomination deadline?
You can nominate property professionals under 35 for a YN award. Nominations close on 22nd December 2015.
3. SEE Real Estate Awards
The SEE Real Estate Awards is the only event of its kind in the South Eastern European region. It is aimed at proactive members of the property industry including developers, investors, financiers and lawyers, both internationally and regionally.
When is it?
The SEE Real Estate Awards gala ceremony will take place in Bucharest, Romania on April 21st 2016.
When is the nomination deadline?

4. Property Week Property Awards
The Property Week Property Awards exist in order to recognise outstanding performance in the UK property industry. 2016 will mark the 21st ceremony for the awards, so this really is a coming of age event. There are a very wide range of categories covered including recognition for investors, financiers, developers and agencies.
When it is?
The 21st Property Awards ceremony will take place in London on 19th April 2016.
When is the nomination deadline?
The deadline for entries to the Property Awards is the 15th January 2016.
5. Asia Property Awards
The Asia Property Awards were launched in 2005 to honour the impressive growth of the region’s property market. The awards are now in their 11th year and cover regional prizes in Thailand, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Indonesia. The winners of each regional prize will go on to represent their country at the South East Asia Property Awards in Singapore.
When it is?
Regional award ceremonies will be held across South East Asia thought 2016.
When is the nomination deadline?
The deadlines have not yet been announced for next year’s awards, but you can register on the website to submit your application.
6. Scottish Property Awards
The Scottish Property Awards are an annual celebration of the best in commercial property north of the border. Award categories showcase developers, agencies, architects and regeneration projects.
When it is?
The Scottish Property Awards 2016 will take place in Glasgow on 3rd March 2016.
When is the nomination deadline?
Nominations for the 2016 awards closed in October and the 2016 finalists have been announced.
7. East Africa Property Awards
The East Africa Property Awards are relatively new to the gala scene. They were launched in 2014 to mark a decade of significant growth in the continent’s real estate industry. Award categories have been designed to recognise excellence in areas including development, real estate and marketing.
When it is?
The 2016 East Africa Property Awards will take place in Nairobi in March 2016.
When is the nomination deadline?
Nominations have yet to be opened for the 2016 awards but you can register your interest here.
8. RESI Awards
The RESI Awards celebrate the top players in the residential property market in the UK. Award categories include titles designed to honour developers, property managers, financiers, landlords, property managers, and national and international agencies.
When it is?
The RESI Awards 2016 will be held in London on the 11th May 2016.
When is the nomination deadline?
The awards are open to enter now but no deadline has yet been announced.
